It is important that you know how to wash your lingerie because you cannot simply keep on wearing it without washing it. Here some tips on how to wash your precious intimate apparel.

1. Before you dump any of your lingerie into the machine or before you attempt to wash it for the first time, it is always best to read the manufacturer's instructions on how to wash it. These instructions are often printed on the tag or on the packaging. That is why it is good if you keep the packaging because who knows when you will need it.

Read the instructions properly; take note which type of detergent to be used and how to wash it. Also, keep in mind that different manufacturers have different instructions; probably because they use different materials. Following these instructions will surely help extend the lifespan of your lingerie.

2. The detergent always plays a role in washing. Of course, can you imagine washing your clothes without detergent? Surely, it will not feel or look clean because we all know that cleaning alone doesn't remove all the stains and other dirt particles stuck in between the fibers of your clothing.

Remember that you cannot just use any type of detergent to wash your lingerie. Keep in mind that your lingerie is delicate so a harsh detergent will surely ruin its integrity. 3. Lingerie doesn't come in one color only. In fact, it comes in a variety of colors. Some are colored purple, violet, red, maroon, pink, hot pink, blue, green and so much more. The problem with colored lingerie is that it can probably bleed when you wash it for the first time.

Some lingerie tend to be colorfast so when you wash it along with other garments it will surely stain it. To keep this from happening, check the label first. But if you want to play safe, you can always wash your lingerie separately.

4. Do not even think, not even for a split second, of washing your lingerie in the washing machine. Remember the washing machine is not your lingerie's best friend. In fact, it is your lingerie's number one enemy. Why? Well, the rotating motion of the washing machine is detrimental to your lingerie's delicate form. So if you want to prolong the life of your lingerie, you might want to hand wash it.
